Casual Caretakers Elk Island Catholic Schools Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Ardrossan We are accepting applications for a Caretaker at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Ardrossan, and St. Luke Catholic School in South Cooking Lake, Alberta. Starting wage is $25.56 per hour.

Each position has a job allocation of 0.375 FTE working approximately 15 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Should a suitable candidate be found, scheduling for both schools on the same day is possible. The successful candidate will be available to start immediately.

As a Caretaker, you will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming learning environments. Flexibility, reliability, and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize washrooms and eating areas; refill all consumables (soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, etc.)
• Clean and sanitize all "high touch" equipment and areas.
• Dust, clean, wash, wax and polish floors, walls, windows and furniture throughout the entire building.
• Vacuum classrooms and steam clean carpets.
• Operate janitorial equipment such as auto scrubbers, polishers, vacuums, shampooers, steam cleaners, etc.
• Empty trash containers and remove all trash from buildings to appropriate containers.
• Manage the appropriate recycling of materials in the building.
• Inspect the outside of the building including playgrounds/play structures to ensure the areas are safe and maintained.
• Maintain the cleanliness of playgrounds and ornamental areas adjacent to the building(s).
• Ensure adjacent walkways are free of snow and ice and other hazards.
• Perform ground maintenance to adjacent walkways and ornamental areas (cut and trim grass areas, weed all flower and shrub beds, etc.).
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Director of Facility Operations and Maintenance.
• Requisition and maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, materials, tools and equipment.
• Ensure the building is secure in accordance with the School/Building Security Plan.
• Perform all duties in compliance with Board policies and legal regulations.
• Perform other duties as required by the Director of Facility Operations and Maintenance or designate.
