JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting the Tax Director in managing Livingston’s global corporate tax, transfer pricing and transaction tax matters, including planning, compliance, reporting and analysis, strategy, governance and liaising with cross-functional team members, tax authorities and external auditors. This role provides exposure to senior and executive levels of management, global scope, significant complexity (number of entities, structures and currencies) and the opportunity to work with multiple teams such as Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Accounts payable, Legal and business units.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tax accounting including tax provision computations and reporting requirements;
- Compute and analyze monthly, quarterly and year-end income tax provision, reporting and tax disclosures
- Maintain and analyze deferred tax inventories and continuity schedules
- Tax compliance and reporting projects including gathering data for tax return and information return preparation by external advisors, and preparation of tax returns where prepared in-house
- Prepare annual tax admin forms
- Track, analyze and reconcile tax assessments and notices
- Calculate tax installments and maintain cash tax reporting files
- Analyze, research and document income tax positions and prepare related working papers;
- Liaise with tax authorities and external advisors on various compliance matters;
- Special projects and research as assigned.
- Prepare tax journal entries, analyze and reconcile all tax GL accounts (income tax, transaction tax and withholding taxes).
- Provide support for outsourced global transaction tax compliance
- Data gathering and analytics for reporting on intercompany transactions (transfer pricing compliance).
- Comply with ICFR/SOX protocol and attestation requirements.
- Provide support for forecasting and planning initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Good understanding of IFRS tax accounting rules
- Good foundational knowledge of Canadian and US corporate taxation.
- Advance skills in Excel and data analytical tools, and other Microsoft Office products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong accuracy and attention to details
- Solid organizational, analytical and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to work independently, in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to develop interactive working relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to think outside the box and share ideas to improve our ways of working.
WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED
3 years of related experience
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
CERTIFICATIONS DESCRIPTION
- Professional accounting designation preferred
- Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax courses preferred
