Jr High Online Core Subjects Teacher (1.0 FTE) (FSO) - Continuous

Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) Grade 9 Online teacher at Next Step Fort Saskatchewan. The assignment involves teaching all four grade 9 core subjects online synchronously in the afternoons each day via Brightspace. Must have technical proficiency to complete assessments online. The rest of the teaching assignment includes ELA 20-1, 20-2, Social 20-1, 20-2. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Learning Management Systems such as Brightspace and/or Google Classroom, and skilled at building strong, supportive relationships with at-risk youth. A passion for personalized education and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, student-focused environment are essential.
Next Step Fort
Saskatchewan provides flexible outreach programming for grades 8 to 12 students
with five teaching staff and three support staff. The school is located in Fort
Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB.

- Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education degree

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
