About the role

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for an Accounting Operations Contractor to support our client during an employee's medical leave. This is an 8-week contract role based 100% onsite in downtown Vancouver. The company is looking for someone who can jump in immediately and keep things running smoothly during a key absence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close tasks
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing
  • Provide backup support across the finance function as needed

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of accounting or finance operations experience
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience with reconciliations and month-end tasks
  • Comfortable working onsite full-time in downtown Vancouver
  • Available to start immediately and commit to the full contract term
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
