The Canadian Union of Skilled Workers (CUSW) is a progressive, member-driven union representing highly skilled tradespeople across Canada.

We are currently recruiting 309A Certified Electricians for General Electrical project in Arvida, Quebec

Dispatch Registration Date / Lay off Date Protection:

Any members dispatched to this call will maintain their current dispatch registration date (lay off date)

Members dispatched to this project will retain their current dispatch (layoff) registration date, provided they complete the full 6 Week period.

Note: Early self-termination will result in loss of this registration date.

Work Scope:

General Industrial Work (cabling, tray pulling and installing instruments, etc)

Requirements

All members must complete a 4 Day In-Person Training Session in Quebec (no virtual option)

Duration: 4 Days

Training Course provides all required skills to work in Quebec

Cost of the Training Course: Covered by CUSW/Employer

Compensation for Training: Hourly wages, travel, and board will be covered during the training (as listed in this posting below)

Certification from this course is a requirement for this call and future FIPOE-related work opportunities in

Quebec

Members who complete this course will be prioritized for future FIPOE related work opportunities in Montreal/Quebec

Members must successfully complete all four days of training in order to be eligible for board and travel coverage.

Must provide Drivers License and Copy of CofQ

Completion of Paperwork to be Eligible to work in Quebec

Forms will be sent to selected members

Rate - Hours - Travel and Board:

Total Wage Package: $66.50, Base Rate: $51.87 per hour (based on 40 hours per week, plus below remittances)

Overtime Rate: $100.24 - (when overtime is required)

Vacation Pay: 13%

Pension/RRSP (Employer contribution): $4.96/hour (directed to PSRT Account)

Medical Insurance/Benefits (Employer contribution): $2.93/hour (directed to PSBT Account)

Shift / Hours:

5 days 8 hours regular rate + 2 hours double rate

Potential for 1 day (Saturday) 10 hours at double rate

Travel and Board:

  • Less than 480 km from residence: $175/day (4 days/week) 175/day x 4 days
  • More than 480 km from residence: $175/day (4 days/week) 175/day x 6 days

Travel arrangements and accommodations are the responsibility of the member; compensation will be provided as outlined above.

Members outside of Ontario: Possibility of fly in / fly out (depending on province of origin)
