As an experienced Superintendent working in the Civil & Infrastructure Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth, challenging industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will work closely with the project management team, various client groups and subtrades to ensure project excellence through your outstanding leadership, keen eye for detail and commitment to quality, and health and safety.

What you will do

  • Demonstrate exemplary leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection by applying Pomerleau’s HSE standards as well as all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Plan and oversee the construction site by developing the schedule with the team, meeting milestones, and collaborating with the project manager from the start.

  • Lead and mentor the site team with a hands-on approach to support, train, and guide team members.

  • Collaborate effectively with business partners, consultants, and clients, including during coordination meetings.

  • Ensure compliance and quality by making sure materials, plans, and specifications meet standards and applicable codes.

  • Manage resources and logistics by identifying workforce needs, maintaining inventory, and receiving materials according to company policies.

  • Keep site documentation organized and up to date.

  • Drive efficiency and innovation by solving problems and recommending methods to improve productivity through to project closeout and celebration.

This role could be for you if you have

  • Relevant prior experience in the civil construction industry.
  • Certificate or diploma related to construction.
  • Proven track record of success in project management and team collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, planning, quality control, and cost management.
  • Ability to quickly identify issues, analyze root causes, propose effective solutions, and lead a large team to successful completion.
  • Passion for developing, maintaining, and executing the project schedule.
  • Solid computer skills and previous experience with scheduling software.
  • Market knowledge and ability to work across the region.
