This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026. Job Summary The Intern, Labour Relations (LR) and Compliance is responsible for collaborating with labour relations and Compliance to assist in preparing arguments to defend the Company’s position on LR issues and to support the Compliance team on data reporting and metrics. The incumbent conducts research, analysis, and transactional support. The role performs data entry and other clerical assignments as needed. Additionally, the position participates in regular LR and Compliance activities.
Major Responsibilities Labour Relations and Grievance Support:
- Input grievances in a grievance management system
- Utilize the grievance management system to pull trend reports
- Identify grievance trends and work with Labour Relations Experts on action plans to reduce grievances
- Support Labour Relations Expert by researching employee issues, including collective agreement interpretation, discipline, attendance managementand duty to accommodate
- Assist the Labour Relations Expert with preparing for union joint conferencesand labour-management meetings
- Draft grievance responses using template
- Support the team by conducting research and finding relevant jurisprudence
Arbitration And Legal Proceeding Support
- Conduct research and analysis in preparation for arbitration and other legal proceedings
- Format, review, and provide clerical support for written legal submissions
- Support the end-to-end Arbitration function including overseeing the implementation of outcomes as required
Compliance
- Track complaints in into our HR case management system (HRCM), analyze data, identify trends and develop presentations
- Support the workplace harassment complaints’ resolution process in Canada
- Prepare and distribute reports to meet Compliance requirements
- Collaborate with HR Business artners, Labour Relations Experts, HRIS team and I&T team to support Compliance and LR systems and processes
Working Conditions The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines.
Requirements Experience
- Experience in a unionized environment and interpreting as well as applying collective agreements and relevant federal employment legislation*
- Experience in building strong and positive relationships with stakeholders*

- Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French*)
Technical Skills/Knowledge

Education
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Labour, Industrial Relations or related field
- Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
