Job Description As part of TD Insurance , the Data, Analysis, and Insight (DAI) group supports internal business partners by providing valuable insights and analyses.
Within DAI, there are several sub-teams supporting the different business units and act as trusted partners to executive, operational, and actuarial stakeholders such as Claim/Fraud Operations, Affinity Market, Pricing, Underwriting, Product, Vendor Management, and others. The team combines talent from actuaries, business intelligence analysts, and data specialists to provide business-specific insights and analytics to our partners help guide decision-making. Relied on to detect and explain emerging trends, the team generates KPI monitoring, in-depth analyses, as well as actionable recommendations to respective partners.
The Actuarial Manager will explore all aspects of their respective pillar on the data and processes standpoint with the opportunity to collaborate with key partners across the organization. You will be instrumental in the delivery of key strategic priorities with regular opportunities to present analyses and reporting broadly to partners and executives.
Under the supervision of the respective Senior Manager, the actuarial manager will be involved in the following key activities:
- Lead and develop a group of actuarial and data analysts specializing in data, analytics, and explainability of results
- Manage work on key initiatives related to your respective pillar, workload management, and the development of innovative analytical solutions.
- Contribute to the timely delivery and presentation of regular monitoring and ad hoc analyses to partners and executives across the organization.
- Oversee end-to-end analyses and insights solutions over a range of complexity, from the initial demand to the delivery of reporting or analysis and presentation of results.
- Apply an effective and collaborative approach to stakeholder management. Build and nurture positive working relationships with key partners and executives as appropriate.
- Build for the future and provide people leadership; oversee personal development plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain highly diverse, qualified and engaged team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Actuarial Science
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and ACAS designation
- Strong programming skills (SQL, Python, R).
- Highly developed problem-solving and analysis skills with consistent rigor in quality of work.
- Uses innovation and creativity to improve work efficiency and results.
- Effective in managing multiple priorities with strong organization and time management skills
- Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners and external stakeholders;
- Experience in General Insurance
