About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hot. Tasks: Load and off-load machines. Notify supervisor or mechanic of equipment malfunctions. Operate and feed a variety of machines. Set up, maintain and make minor repairs to machinery. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Investigate machine stoppages. Assist machine operators and other textile workers as required. Examine products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards. Operate a variety of machines to bleach, dye, coat or finish fabric, thread, yarn or other textile products. Type of yarn and fibre: Fabric blends. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Ability to distinguish between colours. Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
