This is an outstanding opportunity for a Principal Architect to join a growing, design-led firm based in Langley, BC. Our client is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to drive the next phase of their growth — spearheading business development, leading mid-rise multifamily and residential projects, and shaping the strategic direction of the studio.
About Our Client Our client is an established Architecture & Design firm with over 40 years of success across Western Canada. Known for their thoughtful, community-driven approach, they have delivered a wide range of award-winning projects throughout British Columbia.
Their expertise spans residential, mixed-use, and community-based developments, with a growing portfolio of mid-rise multifamily housing that blends sustainability, livability, and design excellence.
The firm is built on a strong collaborative culture where design innovation meets technical rigor. They value long-term relationships with clients, municipalities, and consultants — and are now seeking a Principal Architect to expand these networks and lead new opportunities within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley markets.
THE ROLE As Principal Architect, you will take a leading role in driving business development and strengthening client relationships across the region. You’ll be responsible for identifying and pursuing new project opportunities, nurturing partnerships with developers, and positioning the firm as a go-to expert in mid-rise multifamily and residential architecture.
You’ll also lead projects through all phases — from concept design to construction — ensuring creative vision, technical excellence, and client satisfaction. Alongside other senior leaders, you’ll help shape the firm’s long-term growth strategy, mentor team members, and elevate the studio’s design culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts by identifying new clients, markets, and partnership opportunities within the residential and development sectors.

- Oversee project delivery for mid-rise multifamily and residential developments from inception to completion.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure projects align with design, technical, and client expectations.
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to architects and designers within the studio.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and community engagements.
- Contribute to the firm’s vision, branding, and reputation as a leader in sustainable, human-centered design.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Master’s Degree in Architecture and AIBC Registration (or eligibility)
- 10+ years of experience in the Architecture & Design industry, with proven expertise in residential and mid-rise multifamily projects
- Strong business development background — proven success generating new work and expanding client networks
- 5+ years in a leadership or principal-level role, mentoring teams and leading complex projects
- Excellent understanding of municipal planning processes, rezoning, and building codes in British Columbia
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and relevant design tools
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong strategic, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Passionate about design excellence, community impact, and sustainable development
