Today, GDI operates nearly 300 stores across Canada and the United States, as well as shoppable brand experiences at Garageclothing.com and Dynamiteclothing.com.

Job Summary:

As a member of Digital Development, you will put on your product-oriented goggles and partner with the Product teams across E-commerce, POS, OMS, CRM, Loyalty, and Customer Service to release cohesive initiatives that stand the test of time. You will be focused on both the current and future states and will have the opportunity to lead the design and execution of technical architecture on the SFCC platform. This is a hands-on role for an experienced Technical Lead or Technical Architect who understands business problems and can remediate with ROI as top of mind.

As our Senior Architect I, you are the technical authority for Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC) at Groupe Dynamite. You design the next-generation architecture that powers our online storefronts, headless experiences, and omnichannel capabilities for Garage and Dynamite brands. Partnering with engineering managers, product, UX, and DevOps, you translate business vision into scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that delight customers and accelerate revenue.

Responsibilities:

Architecture Ownership

  • Define and evolve the target architecture for SFCC (SFRA & SCAPI), headless storefronts, and integration patterns with Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, OMS, and ERP.
  • Produce and socialize architecture decision records (ADRs), sequence diagrams, and data-flow models; ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Lead design reviews and provide technical sign-off for all commerce initiatives, migrations, and third-party integrations.

Technical Strategy & Innovation

  • Evaluate new Salesforce capabilities (Composable Storefront, Einstein AI, Data Cloud, PWA Kit) and craft adoption strategies that unlock measurable business value.
  • Drive proof-of-concepts and technology spikes; develop reference implementations and coding standards for the engineering team.
  • Influence long-term roadmap by balancing technical debt, scalability, and product velocity.

Solution Delivery Guidance

  • Collaborate with scrum teams to break down epics into architecturally sound stories; mentor engineers on design patterns, performance tuning, and secure coding.

  • Establish non-functional requirements (latency, availability, accessibility, SEO) and quality gates integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Partner with DevOps to optimize build & deploy (GitHub Actions, SFCC CI/CD via Copado)

  • Governance & Best Practices

  • Define code-review checklists, logging/monitoring standards (Elastic), and incident-response

  • runbooks.

  • Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, GDPR, CCPA, law 25 and internal security standards through threat modeling and regular vulnerability assessments.

  • Contribute to the architecture community of practice; deliver brown-bags and documentation that raise the technical bar across Digital.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as the primary technical counterpart for Product Owners, UX, CRM, Merchandising, and Customer Care on commerce topics.

  • Translate complex technical trade-offs into clear, business-centric narratives for executives and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Function as the escalation point for critical production incidents, guiding rapid root-cause analysis and long-term remediations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
  • 5+ years of Salesforce Lead, Technical Architect, or Solution Architect experience leveraging an array of Salesforce products and external systems to deliver incremental value;
  • 7+ years of experience working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud including customization, configuration, and integration, and at least a year of experience with the Salesforce Identity framework.
  • Solid understanding of the SFCC data model, platform boundaries, and best practices;
  • Knowledge of Salesforce integration methods and tools, including REST/SOAP APIs and middleware platforms;
  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud Architect certification.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required for daily communication with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders, both within and outside of Quebec.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience administering, developing or integrating with other Salesforce products, particularly Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud;
  • Experience with Salesforce Privacy Center;
  • Experience leveraging the Mulesoft Anypoint Platform application network.

At GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you:

  • A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance-driven bonuses;
  • A group retirement savings program with employer matching;
  • Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs;
  • An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite;
  • Exclusive private sample sales;
  • A flexible vacation policy;
  • And more!

Our promise… No day will be like the last—we aim to be better today than we were yesterday. We are committed to employment equity.

Candidates that are retained will be called for an interview.
