What You’ll Be Doing This position reports to the Senior Manager, Fund Valuations and is responsible for providing support to the Fund valuations Department by preparing, reviewing and delivering reports to the internal and external stakeholders. The individual in this role must also train and understand the various tasks performed by the team so that they can provide ongoing coverage and support. This requires the individual to be extremely organized, have high respect for timelines and deadlines, and be able to work within tight schedules.
The Fund Valuations department is part of Retail Markets and Wealth Management Finance and supports CIBC’s Asset Management business. Primary responsibilities of the department are: Monitor the daily valuation and pricing for CIBC’s entire retail investment fund offer (approx. 237 funds, and 1148 classes totaling approximately $173 Billion of Assets under Administration - as at September 2025). Prepare financial statements (annual & semi-annual basis) and month-end reporting and summaries for the funds. Ensure the distributions (interest, dividends, return on capital etc.) to clients are accurate and that all tax reporting is completed on time. Ensure that all funds are able to invest and meet local market requirements related to taxation and market documentation. Manage material vendor relationship. Support valuation of private asset. Provide valuation and administration for alternative products. Support the business in product enhancements and new product launches.

- Monthly Mutual Fund Reporting. Data transformation / translation from vendor format to CIBC required format. Prepare final files for Senior Manager to review and for submission to stakeholders. Deliver files to internal and external stakeholders and maintain up to date distribution lists. Provide support to Senior Manager – Financial Reporting for maintenance of the Security Master File. Prepare, maintain and deliver to both internal and external stakeholders the Funds’ Monthly Average NAV Reports, Monthly NAV Change Reports and Performance Reports. Validate Month End Reports to those published by External Stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of data. Must Adhere to tight deadlines for these deliverables.
- Financial Statement Preparation & Review. Provide support to the Senior Manager – Financial Reporting in the preparation of Interim and Annual Financial Statements and the Management Report of Fund Performance (MRFP) for the CIBC Fund Families. Provide support to the Senior Manager – Financial Reporting for maintenance of the Security Master File. Assist Manager and Senior Manager in the detailed review of draft copies of the Interim and Annual Financial Statements and the MRFPs. Comments and corrections are to be made to the drafts before submission to internal and external stakeholders. Must Adhere to tight deadlines for these deliverables
- Monthly Invoicing. Track and process via the department’s database tools, Fund Accounting and Custody Invoices received from vendor for all product groups. Provide initial analysis of month over month trending and document findings for further review. Data is ultimately recorded to facilitate expense management and is a key component of the expense planning and forecasting process.
- Coverage & Support for the Department. Provide vacation coverage to the Manager responsible for the Daily Pricing Review & Sales Reporting processes. Prepare daily reports for currency exposure and class allocations for supporting the Trading Teams in operating the Fund’s hedging programs. Provide administrative support to the department, which includes organizing the storage of department records, and maintaining supplies for the department’s usage. Includes documenting retrieval of records stored offsite. Perform duties as assigned by the Senior Manager.
