The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Job Summary
We are seeking a Site Services Planner. Reporting to the Administration Manager, the Site Services Planner is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining reliability-based maintenance strategies for all buildings, infrastructure, and stationary equipment assigned to the Site Services department. The role focuses on preventative and predictive maintenance, coordinating resources, and optimizing schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability. The Planner also trains team members, monitors performance, and collaborates with other departments to achieve shared goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance planning function to ensure that the work scheduling process is performed effectively and meets targeted KPIs.
- Develop and support the implementation of short-term and long-term maintenance work plans.
- Schedule maintenance and repair-related activities (work orders) in consultation with the Site Services Supervisors.
- Provide quality work packs to the Site Services Supervisors for all routine maintenance activities to ensure quality and efficient work execution.
- Obtain detailed work completion information from the Site Services Supervisors and resolve any issues as necessary.
- Analyze work orders and maintenance records to further develop the maintenance planning system.
- Liaise between Capital Projects and Site Services for long-term improvements and facility upgrades.
- Assist in preparing the department’s annual operating and capital budgets.
- Ensure the appropriate allocation of operating and capital costs to support business plans through the annual budget process and monthly cost/budget variance reviews.
- Ensure that all work assigned is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Keep classified maintenance records up to date.
- Monitor, check, and liaise with workshop personnel (both in-house and contractor workshops) to ensure that maintenance works are carried out as planned.
- Enforce the Company Code of Conduct and ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, rules, and guidelines.
- Monitor on-site warehouse parts support and recommend updates to stocking levels.
- Oversee the department’s operational use of SAP and support ongoing upgrades and developments.
Required Experience and Skill Set
- Experience supervising within a mining operation or heavy industrial environment.
- Experience and knowledge of time and risk management.
- Maintenance Management Professional (MMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other recognized project management designation is considered an asset.
- Experience with SAP, including CMMS and Prometheus scheduling tools, is considered an asset.
