About the role

Faculty Appointment Types Full-time Probationary Job Summary

The College of New Caledonia is looking for a full time probationary faculty member to teach in the Medical Laboratory Technology Science Program. This position is responsible for both theory and lab instruction in the first year of the program and may include supervision and monitoring of 2nd year students’ progression and evaluation while in their practicum. In addition, this position may be responsible for dealing with program issues over the summer as well as arranging and organizing practicum placements. Some travel throughout the province may be required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical Laboratory Technology Diploma, with current membership and certification with CSMLS; preferred qualifications include: a Bachelor’s Degree (or degree in progress) in a field related to medical laboratory technology education or Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Advanced Registered Technologist Certificate (or in progress)

  • Five years of recent experience in the profession

  • Teaching experience in medical laboratory technology education and diversity of employment experience, including administration and/or project work is preferred.

  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and be able to set priorities;

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with an ongoing interest in student success and life-long learning.

  • Excellent communication skills are required
