About the role
Position Overview:
At Brightwater Senior Living, we take pride in providing a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of maintenance operations in our community. In this vital leadership role, you will work closely with the Executive Director and Home Office leadership to ensure our buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily maintenance operations for the community, including building interiors, exteriors, grounds, walkways, driveways, and parking areas.
- Conduct daily inspections to promptly address maintenance concerns and ensure safety standards are met.
- Perform and supervise preventative maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, carpentry, painting, and flooring systems.
- Manage maintenance service contractors, equipment storage, and inventory levels; order supplies and parts as needed.
- Lead emergency preparation, disaster response, and hazard communication procedures.
- Perform emergency maintenance services as required on an on-call basis.
- Directly supervise Maintenance Technicians, Housekeeping staff, and Bus Drivers, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Maintain suite service schedules, conduct suite and common area audits, and oversee quality assurance initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with transportation policies including community bus inspections, maintenance, and staff driving approval processes.
- Monitor and assist with capital improvement projects.
- Manage the maintenance budget, maintaining cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Maintain Hazardous Chemical Inventory and Safety Data Sheets in line with regulatory standards.
- Represent the community positively and professionally in all interactions, promoting excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience in general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
- Proficient in the use and safe handling of maintenance and landscaping tools, including power drills, saws, carpet cleaners, paint sprayers, and more.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to meet state or provincial health and safety requirements.
- Certification maintenance as required by state or provincial regulations.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
