The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining brake press machinery to bend, form, and shape metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Role Description
This full-time, on-site Brake Press Operator role is based in London, ON. The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring brake press machines to form metal components according to production specifications. Daily tasks include interpreting drawings or work orders, selecting appropriate tooling, performing test runs, and adjusting machine settings for accuracy and efficiency. The role involves inspecting finished parts for quality, identifying and resolving minor machine issues, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The Brake Press Operator collaborates with production and quality teams to meet deadlines, minimize waste, and ensure adherence to safety and company policies.
Qualifications
Ability to operate and monitor brake press and related machinery, with solid Machine Operation skills. Experience performing Quality Control checks, including visual inspections and measurement verification of finished parts. Knowledge of Printing and Pre-press processes as they relate to marking, labeling, or preparing materials for production. Troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve minor mechanical or process issues during production. Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or a similar production environment is an asset. Understanding of workplace safety practices and willingness to follow company safety procedures and guidelines. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and production instructions. Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and ability to work on-site in London, ON on a full-time basis.
Working Conditions
Manufacturing and production environment. Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required. Overtime and shift work may be required based on production demands. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications. Select appropriate tooling and machine settings for production requirements. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy. Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, and other precision measuring tools. Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and efficiency. Troubleshoot minor machine and tooling issues. Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Complete production documentation and quality records.
