Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a non-regular Instructional Assistant position in LEAP programs for students with diverse learning needs. The appointment will commence as soon as possible and end May 22, 2026. Salary will be in accordance BCGEU Support Staff, Level 7.

Duties: Provide back-up coverage for the regular Instructional Assistant. Under the direction of the instructor(s), responsibilities include:
- Assist students with off campus and in class assignments
- Model work skills and work-related behavior at the work site and provide job coaching
- Assist individuals or small groups with various learning assignments, including a tutoring following the instructional plans
- Arrangement and supervision of work placements which may be on or off campus
Qualifications
Social Service Worker Certificate or equivalent/related educational background along with experience in the field of adult special education.
In addition, the incumbent will possess:
- Client-oriented with knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with students and records
- Initiative and ability to work well without supervision
- An attitude and philosophy which will promote and foster independence in students
- A valid BC Driver’s license and have the use of a vehicle
- Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the Indigenous communities, is an asset
- Experience with distributed learning formats as well as knowledge with relevant technologies is an asset
