Outside Sales Representative - Valves & Automation Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to lead growth and expand market share within the Valves & Automation industry across Northern Toronto. This role involves developing strong customer relationships, driving technical product sales, and aligning market strategies to meet company objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive sales approach, technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.

Outside Sales Representative - Valves & Automation Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within industrial and commercial sectors in the Ontario territory.
  • Promote company products through engineering seminars, customer training sessions, and facility tours to enhance product knowledge and client engagement.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans, including forecasting, territory management, and pricing strategies, in collaboration with management and distribution partners.
  • Manage and follow up on quotes, negotiate deals, and close complex sales to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Plan and schedule travel efficiently within the territory, dedicating approximately 85% of time to field activities.
  • Prepare and submit weekly sales reports, progress updates, and forecasts via CRM systems to maintain accurate records and track performance.
  • Provide ongoing customer support, including product training and technical assistance, to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Work closely with support teams and distributors to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies.

Outside Sales Representative - Valves & Automation Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in outside sales or sales management within the industrial valves, automation, or mechanical equipment sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing a territory, expanding market presence, and closing new business.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM platforms such as Microsoft D365 or similar.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
