Hopewell Residential currently has a full-time opportunity for aService Technicianto join our team.

Objective:

The Service Technician is responsible for the supervision and quality and control of single-family homes post possession, in Calgary and surrounding areas. This position will report directly to the Warranty Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment;

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving;

  • Conduct customer inspections for three month and year-end and compile a list of deficiencies;

  • Adhere to all department policies and procedures for handling routine and emergency warranty items;

  • Liaison with Warranty Coordinators to ensure scheduling and paperwork flows effectively between the office and various community locations;

  • Schedule with the homeowners a Trade Day to complete all items noted on the list of deficiencies. Coordinate with the Warranty Coordinator to ensure appropriate work orders are submitted to the trades;

  • Address and complete any concerns and/or repairs under technicians technical abilities;

  • Attend and monitor all Trade Days to ensure repairs are completed, meet the company quality standards, and the homeowner is satisfied;

  • Proactively follow-up with homeowners regarding any outstanding concerns;

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of single family residential warranty experience;

  • High school diploma or equivalent;

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written);

  • Industry related education is an asset;

  • Valid driver’s license is required;

  • CSTS, First Aid with CPR and fall protection training would be an asset;

  • Excellent relationship management skills to support interactions with customers, trade partners, suppliers, and internal staff;

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.);

  • Detailed oriented;

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities;

  • Team building skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a field position and will require travel between designated job sites. Work may require occasional weekends and/or evenings.

Physical Demand Requirements:

-VISION- Near and far vision. Some work activities involve the monitoring of processes, objects or situations in the work environment that are far from the worker. Other work activities are performed near the worker. -HEARING- Verbal interaction. Work activities involve communication with colleagues on a regular basis. -BODY POSITION- Work activities involve combinations and varying degrees of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and crouching. -LIMB COORDINATION- Multiple limb coordination including ability to lift, carry, push, operate assigned equipment/vehicles. Work activities are carried out by coordinating the movements of upper limbs simultaneously with lower limbs. -STRENGTH– High. Work activities involve handling load of 10lb but less than 50lb. -ENVIRONMENT– Primarily outdoors, in all weather conditions. -HEIGHT– Ability to work at high levels on ladders, scaffolding and climb stairs.
