About the role

This competition is to fill one (1) permanent part-time position working 56.25 hours bi-weekly.

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • First Point of Contact: The School Records Secretary serves as the initial contact for students, staff, and parents/guardians, providing assistance and information as needed.
  • Office Administration: Ensuring the smooth operation of the school office by managing schedules, handling communications, and supporting administrative tasks.
  • Confidential Record Management: Maintaining and managing confidential student records and files, ensuring they are organized, secure and accessible only to authorized personnel.
  • Support for School Operations: Assisting in various administrative tasks that contribute to the efficient functioning of the school.
  • Financial Management Tasks such as accounts receivable and payable, monitoring and reporting on contribution agreements, and applying financial administration rules.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience providing reception to clients in an office setting;
  • Experience performing basic administrative and clerical tasks such as tracking and data entry, photocopying, scanning and emailing;
  • Experience working with Outlook, Word & Excel as well as accounting software such as Sage Accounting
  • Recent filing and records management experience;
  • Experience with financial management tasks including accounts receivable and payable, cheque writing, reconciling school accounts, and creating financial reports
  • Experience working in a school environment would be considered an asset.

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:

  • Security clearance, including Vulnerable Sector Check
