Your tasks

As a Methods Agent-CNC Machining, you will play a key role in the industrialization of machined components and in optimizing manufacturing processes. You will act as a link between Engineering, Methods, and Production teams to ensure efficient industrialization and compliance with specifications. You will be involved in the industrialization of new products, modifications to existing products, and the introduction of new processes and/or equipment.

Summary of Responsibilities

Production Support and Technical Development

  • Create and update CNC programs for machined parts (2‑axis CNC lathes, 3‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines).
  • Create operation sequences, tools, and other required items for machining within the ERP system.
  • Define or recommend cutting parameters based on required tolerances and equipment capabilities.
  • Support designers and engineers in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
  • Support the introduction of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Support the manufacturing/modification of parts using conventional lathes and milling machines.
  • Prepare machining‑related work instructions when part complexity requires it.
  • Design and/or update fixtures, tooling, and inspection devices required for manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support to Operations to resolve machining‑related issues.
  • Be called upon to support the evening Operations team.

Optimization and Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in the standardization of tools, documents, and work practices.
  • Prepare manufacturing cost, labor, and time estimates.
  • Participate in non‑conformance analysis and problem resolution.
  • Propose and implement improvements targeting quality, productivity, ergonomics, or safety.
  • Adapt methods to the technical requirements of the parent company and/or local and international partners.

Your profile

  • College diploma (DEC) or Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in a relevant field (mechanical engineering with a manufacturing focus is an asset) or a vocational diploma (DEP) in machining.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools and 2D/3D design software (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, Siemens NX is an asset).
  • Proficiency in machine‑tool programming software and associated programming languages (TopSolid is an asset).
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings (first‑angle projection / European views are an asset).
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (bending, cutting, welding, etc.).
  • Knowledge of GD&T and experience with inspection using conventional measuring tools.
  • Strong communication and technical explanation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent diagnostic and technical problem‑solving skills.
  • Rigorous, autonomous, and proactive.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams locally and remotely.
  • Willingness to take short business trips within North America and Europe on rare occasions.
  • Fluency in French, both spoken and written.
    French is the primary working language within the organization.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
    The position holder must regularly collaborate with the parent company in Austria, Doppelmayr USA, and other Group entities outside Quebec. They must be able to actively participate in technical meetings conducted entirely in English, including design reviews, complex technical discussions, calculation analysis and validation, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
