The Consultant, eCommerce Digital Merchandising is responsible for executing and optimizing digital merchandising across our eCommerce website to deliver engaging, conversion-focused, and customer-centric shopping experiences. This role combines hands-on merchandising in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Adobe Target with analytics-driven decision-making to continually improve content placement, navigation, product presentation, and promotional execution.
Working closely with the Digital Merchandising Operations, Merchandising, UX, Marketing, and Analytics teams, the Consultant ensures that product stories, seasonal campaigns, and curated content are delivered seamlessly to the customer while meeting commercial goals and business objectives. You will help run the day-to-day operations of the Digital (eCommerce) Merchandising team at Canadian Tire Retail to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. The Digital Merchandising team is responsible for driving eCommerce and brick-and-mortar sales by working collaboratively across the organization to execute a strong digital strategy that prioritizes the customer and drives results for the business.
What you**’lldo:**
Digital Merchandising Execution
- Build, update, perform QA, and maintain content pages, landing pages, and promotional placements through authoring in AEM
- Ensure digital merchandising aligns with merchandising priorities, seasonal strategies, and promotional calendars
- Manage and optimize browse & discovery through filter optimizations, taxonomy monitoring, page redesigns, onsite search and navigation improvements
- Identify Email merchandising opportunities, build briefs and collaborate with the Digital Delivery team to ensure audiences are optimized
Optimization & Analytics
- Monitor site performance and customer behaviour using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Quantum Metrics, Lookerstudio, etc.) to identify opportunities for improvement
- Analyze customer search and browsing behavior, top search terms, and high-traffic areas to implement strategies that enhance the overall customer experience
- Test and refine merchandising placements, content layouts, and navigation for optimal customer engagement
- Extract sales data and reporting using tools such as ThoughtSpot and Microsoft Excel, to analyze results of digital merchandising initiatives
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with UX, Marketing, Analytics, and Merchandising to ensure a seamless and best-in-class online customer experience
- Provide feedback on UX and site functionality improvements based on data and customer feedback
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement opportunities for optimizing operational processes, enhancing efficiency, and improving overall productivity
Governance and quality assurance
- Maintain brand and merchandising standards across the website experience
- Conduct regular site audits to ensure content accuracy, image quality, and functional links
- Follow establish workflows and approval processes to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
What you bring:
- 3+ years of digital merchandising, eCommerce content management, or site operations experience
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS platforms
- Strong analytical skills (analyzing, organizing, visualizing, and presenting data) with experience in tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar
- Adaptable and flexible with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills and experience managing projects
- Experience with Automotive, Home Tools, Seasonal & Gardening, Home Living, and eCommerce Strategy lines of business
- Understanding of eCommerce best practices, UX principles, SEO fundamentals, Marketing and Digital Marketing principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Customer-centric mindset with strong problem-solving skills to drive effective merchandising tactics and promotional strategies
- Critical thinking skills with natural curiosity and desire to learn
