The Role This is a senior engineering role for someone with deep Rust expertise and a strong background in embedded Linux. You'll lead the development of software for connected medical devices, working across hardware, systems, and scientific teams to deliver secure, high-performance applications in a regulated setting.

What You Will Do Design and build production-grade Rust applications for embedded Linux medical devices with a focus on performance and reliability. Develop software that integrates with hardware components, firmware, and cloud-based services to support connected device functionality. Partner with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and scientists to translate technical requirements into robust software solutions. Champion engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, version control, and software quality processes aligned with regulated development. Mentor engineers, contribute to technical direction, and support validation, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring Strong hands-on experience building production applications in Rust. Deep knowledge of embedded Linux development and experience working with firmware interfaces and onboard peripherals. Experience developing software in regulated industries such as medical devices or biotechnology. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, along with containerization and workflow tools including Docker and Kubernetes. Strong problem-solving skills and an understanding of medical device development practices, with knowledge of standards such as IEC 62304 or FDA regulations considered an asset.
