Overview:
Adastra is seeking a Senior QuickSight Developer to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned data visualization expert with deep expertise in Amazon QuickSight and Tableau, passionate about transforming complex data into actionable insights through compelling dashboards and advanced visual analytics. You will lead the implementation of QuickSight best practices, coach business users, and deliver high-impact dashboards that empower strategic decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evangelize QuickSight best practices for dashboard development and ensure adherence across projects
- Coach and guide business users to build self-service capabilities; strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential
- Design, develop, and maintain complex QuickSight dashboards, including custom visualizations using Highcharts
- Collaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful visualizations
- Optimize dashboard performance and ensure scalability for large datasets
- Translate business needs into intuitive, user-friendly data products
- Ensure data integrity and implement visualization standards
- Demonstrate a proactive, collaborative approach and the right attitude in team interactions
- Contribute to BI best practices and mentor junior team members when needed
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in data visualization and BI development
- Advanced proficiency in Amazon QuickSight and Tableau
- Strong understanding of data products—how they are designed, built, and consumed
- Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries
- Familiarity with AWS ecosystem and data integration concepts
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with other BI tools and data visualization frameworks
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data modeling
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms – AWS preferred
