Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, uncovering needs and aligning prospective customers with solutions to help them achieve their goals. This position is part of the Global Marketing team located in Canada and will be remote.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Reaching out to prospective customers in strategic markets and geographies to generate qualified leads through discovery and discussion.
- Understanding the needs, challenges, and priorities of each prospect to determine whether there is a potential sales opportunity.
- Prioritizing timely follow-up communications with the intention of facilitating needs-based conversations to convert leads to product demos and qualified opportunities.
- Demonstrating a clear understanding of our product and service value propositions to identify customer gaps and challenges, convey information clearly to help generate curiosity and create a sense of urgency.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- 1-2 years of BDR or sales experience, preferably in a B2B or B2G (business to government) organization
- A bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma
- The ability to call potential clients to discover their needs and have informed, relevant conversations.
- A focus on meeting quantitative goals and managing yourself to specific metrics
- Ability to partner with Account Executives to ensure follow-up and smooth hand-off.
The compensation range for this role is $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 CAD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Plan.
