Job Summary Working for the City means you are part of something big, something special! Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor the activities in the Centre to ensure a clean and safe environment at all times by patrolling the levels, monitoringpolicy adherence, performing safety checks and reporting any safety concerns.
- Resolve client issues in a timely and pleasant manner, escalate as required.
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors as required.
- Provide customer service to customers, answers to inquiries, answer question and assist where necessary during functions.
- Ensure contract adherence by clients by monitoring room usage and bookings.
- Report and follow up on maintenance repairs.
- Ensure safe evacuation of the building in the event of an emergency; liaison with emergency services.
- Adhere to emergency procedures including the provision of first aid and calling for assistance as required.
- Understand and adhere to Living Art Centre policies and procedures and Health and Safety standards.
- Monitor doors to ensure they are locked/unlocked, as required by staff.
- Ensure appropriate by-laws are being adhered to (ie no smoking)
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills And Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Previous community centre/venue experience preferred or related experience.
- Excellent customer service and public relations skills.
- Standard First Aid and CPR-B certificates are required.
- Crowd management skills to coordinate orderly movement and maintain safety of large numbers of people.
- WHMIS training is an asset.
- Judgement and problem solving skills to assess and resolve situations quickly, discreetly and with minimal disruptions tomeetings and events.
- Must be able to work as a team player and also work with little supervision.
- Ability to stand and walk freely for extended periods of time.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
Please Note: This is a part-time position requiring the successful candidates to work flexible schedules to includeweekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays. The core hours are 5:00pm – 11:00pm during the week and 8:00am –11:00pm on weekends. Hourly Rate/Salary: 20.98 - 25.60

Hours of Work: up to 25
