About the role
Research Coordinator II MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions (MAP) at St. Michael's Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified applicant for the full-time position of Research Coordinator II (RC II) in our General Internal Medicine (GIM) team. The RC II will be responsible for supporting the GIM clinician-scientists and GIM physicians who have a focus on education or quality improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities Support grant preparation and submission by developing budgets and ensuring application completeness. Coordinate participant requirements, including document collection and task completion verification
Assist with REB submissions for initiation, REB renewals and amendments
Assist with Contract submissions for initiation and conduct of individual studies. Contracts would include study agreements, privacy and financing terms with other institutions.
Manage and assist with the financial expense account of each grant held by one of the GIM Faculty. This includes submissions of expenses and account updates.
Responsible for maintenance of CVs (e.g., CIHR Common CV); preparation of annual academic progress reports; and departmental promotion documents
Assist in scheduling business meetings and other stakeholders’ meeting requests, through each physician’s Outlook calendar scheduler.
Cover any other GIM administrative staff when they are away, such as vacation leave. These other GIM administrative staff will likewise cover you when you are away. Of note, there are 1.5 other FTEs currently in the GIM Division, in addition to this current 1.0 FTE position.
Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a science or health-related field (preferably with 3 years related research experience); Master’s degree in a health-related field is an asset (with 2 years related research experience)
Clinical Training Or Experience In Clinical Research Is Preferred Previous experience in preparing research ethics submissions, standard operating protocols, and study reports is preferred
Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Superior organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload
Professional and self-motivated; strong interpersonal skills
Good time management skills; experience with project management is an asset
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
