About the role
Applications are invited for the position of:
Position: Maintenance III – Journeyman Electrician
Location: Hinton Zone
Start Date: November 1, 2025 or a mutually agreed upon date
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, (8:00am- 4:30pm) inclusive.
Wage: $40.80 - $44.80, in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement
This opportunity will remain open until: A suitable candidate has been found
Summary:
The successful candidate will provide electrical services to the Facilities Department, and works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Facilities.
Duties:
The duties of this position are to include but are not limited to:
- All related general electrical duties
- Maintain Fire Alarm Systems
- Maintain Building Control Systems
Qualifications:
The successful candidate:
- Alberta Journeyman Certification in Electrical
- Experience with Building Control Systems and Instrumentation would be an asset
- Extensive experience with Roof Top Heating & Cooling units and Boiler Controls
- Computer experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
- Physically able to do all aspects of the job
- Must reside or be willing to relocate to Hinton area
The Division:
Grande Yellowhead Public School Division (GYPSD) stretches from Jasper National Park, east to Evansburg, south of Cadomin, and northwest to Grande Cache. The jurisdiction includes 17 schools, 5 Learning Connection Centres, approximately 5000 students and 600 staff. The Division is governed by seven elected Trustees.
The Board’s three priorities are:
- Student Learning
- Teaching and Leadership Excellence
- Community Engagement
In accordance with Board Policy, the successful applicant will be required to provide the following:
- A current RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- A current Alberta Government Child Intervention Record Check
- Evidence of a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
