Collins aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician - Fit and Ream; who will be reporting to the Afternoon shift Assembly Supervisor, as the Machine Shop Technician - Fit & Ream, you will perform various duties in support of production requirements.
Work Location: Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada Work Shift – Weekday Afternoon (Monday - Thursday, 4:00 P.M. – 2:00 A.M.) What You Will Do
- Part loading, fixturing and unloading
- Perform various honing applications, installation of bushings, lathe work, reaming, label installation, swaging, sleeve installation, lube fittings, etc.
- Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
- Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.
- Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
- Participation in cross-functional training in related processes as required.
- Multi-task in the cell and perform other duties as assigned including TPM and machine checklist
Qualifications We Require
- Typically requires High School Diploma and a minimum 2-year current, related Machining experience.
- Experience in material handling and crane/hoist operations.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints
- Experience in measuring tools.
- The selected candidate must be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
Qualifications We Prefer
- Fit and Ream experience
- Tool and Die Certification
- Experience in using micrometers, verniers, reaming tools, etc, in support of quality requirements
- Must be able to lift and manipulate up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
- Verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work either independently or collaboratively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
