About the role
Our client, a well-established and growing organization within the agriculture and food production sector, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their accounting team. This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day financial operations in a fast-paced, seasonal environment with a high volume of transactions and employees.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys variety in their role and working closely with operations.
Key Responsibilities Manage full cycle accounts payable, including processing invoices and issuing payments (CAD and USD) Perform credit card reconciliations and assist with bank reconciliations Support payroll processing for a large employee base (200+ employees) Assist with accounts receivable and collections activities as needed Prepare and distribute internal reports related to sales and expenses Maintain tracking and documentation for inventory, purchasing, and operational costs Post journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance Support month-end and year-end processes, including audit preparation Assist with HST/GST filings Provide administrative and filing support as required
Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems) Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactional work Comfortable working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment Excellent organizational and communication skills
