THE OPPORTUNITY We have an opportunity for a strategic and passionate Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office.

The successful candidate will lead our end-to-end talent acquisition initiatives and serve as an Odlum Brown brand ambassador who facilitates an exceptional candidate experience. This role reports to the Manager, People and Culture and works closely with business leaders to help attract and hire top talent to support our continued growth and evolving workforce needs.

You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our firm by partnering with business leaders and external partners to build proactive sourcing strategies, lead full-cycle recruitment, and enhance our employer brand in the market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build strong candidate pipelines by strategically sourcing passive candidates through referrals, LinkedIn, external associations, diversity groups and other channels
  • Initiate and lead recruitment kickoff meetings to fully understand role requirements, competencies and alignment with business objectives
  • Guide hiring practices that are fair, equitable and welcoming of all applicants, as well as provide equal opportunity to all qualified applicants
  • Create job postings, recruitment plans, interview guides and other related collateral
  • Lead the selection process in partnership with the hiring managers, including conducting phone screens, in-person interviews, background checks and provide recommendations on qualified candidates
  • Provide coaching and support to hiring managers on effective recruitment tools and processes
  • Ensure a high-quality candidate and internal stakeholder experience by providing transparency and progress updates on a regular cadence
  • Manage the negotiation and presentation of employment offers
  • Champion employer branding initiatives and candidate engagement strategies
  • Build and maintain close relationships with recruitment agency partners
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on managing the applicant tracking system and leveraging data and insights to improve hiring effectiveness and candidate experience
  • Identify efficiencies for continuous improvement and recommend best practices that support our overall HR strategy for scalability and impact

  • Coordination – Prioritize, organize, and manage information, people, assets, resources, messages, tasks and/or activities to achieve a goal within timelines
  • Process Improvement and Documentation – Uncover, understand, document, optimize and communicate processes to make them more efficient, effective, and consistent
  • Systems and Application Proficiency – Use, maintain, manage, or improve specific systems or applications in our role to work effectively and efficiently

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition with a successful track record in meeting targets
  • Full cycle recruitment experience from identifying business needs to extending employment offers to talent
  • Proven experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment analytics
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align talent strategies with organizational goals
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with hiring leaders and include talent decisions
  • Deep understanding of sourcing techniques, market mapping, and talent pipeline development
  • Strong project management skills (detailed, organized, takes initiative and effective at multitasking)
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Thrives under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to represent the firm’s brand and culture
  • Passion for continuous improvement, diversity hiring and enhancing the candidate experience

This role has an expected salary of $80,000 - $95,000/year, plus the potential for bonuses.
