10-hour days, 4 days per week (Monday – Thursday)
Facility Located in Rosenort, MB (35 mins south of Winnipeg)
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at K.A. Group, a leading manufacturer specializing in scraper equipment. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality components for our scraper manufacturing process. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of machining techniques.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIEs:
- Ensure all work orders are properly punched in/out using the Genius software.
- Select appropriate tools, inserts, and fixtures for each job and perform tool changes as necessary.
- Operate CNC machine to produce components according to blueprint specifications, and job order quantities.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Effective time management is expected daily to achieve efficiencies and expected output.
- Daily clock ins are required using ADP, along with vacation requests, PTO requests.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Technical degree or certificate in machining or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in operating a CNC mill, 1yr+
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Inventor HSM, Fusion 360 or similar programs.
- Prior CNC programming experience considered an asset
- Grade 12 High School diploma or post-secondary education appreciated
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent safety and housekeeping practice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy components and materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Must be comfortable working in a workshop environment with exposure to fumes, and noise.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots and protective clothing for extended periods.
