About the role

Objective: The Design Assistant will primarily be responsible for the design and pricing of cabinetry and countertops and ensuring our customers receive an exceptional experience. The Design Assistant is focused more on unique custom or retail projects than production orders.

Key Relationships:

Internal: Operations, Installers, Manufacturing, Sales departments and Corporate

External: Customers, Suppliers, Vendors

Location: Edmonton Store

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with initial consultation and qualifying of clients.
  • Works in collaboration with senior designers, to estimate, prepare files and orders.
  • Assist in the design and pricing of cabinetry, countertops, installation and accessories as per company guidelines.
  • Assists Senior Designer with drawings and/or client meetings as needed.
  • Conduct site measurements.
  • Accompany Senior Design Consultants when meeting with customers off-site.
  • Attend sales meetings.
  • Provide reception coverage as required, and support Senior Designer in PTO or other absences.

Skills and Abilities:

  • A degree or diploma from an accredited interior design or architecture program
  • Previous experience in kitchen design and using 2020 software will be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of building codes and compliance issues
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, passion for design, and a drive for success
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple accounts and projects at once
