The Position:
We are looking for Inclusive Education (Special Education) Teachers who are certified to teach in BC for the 2025-26 school year who are based in the Lower Mainland! Inclusive Education Case Managers partner with families to design and oversee personalized education and support plans based on each student’s designation and identified needs. They collaborate closely with the IE team to support the academic success and well-being of learners with diverse abilities. For this role, we are seeking teachers with experience in Inclusive or Special Education, Learning Support, or working with a wide range of student needs.
Primarily remote work, looking for remote teachers based in the Lower Mainland
Teachers will be placed with students within their region and expected to conduct home and on-site visits throughout year
~0.4-1.0 FTE
What we offer:
Competitive Wage: $67k- $92K/year based on 1.0 FTE and depending on experience and certifications
Contractor model
Flexibility between full-time and part-time (minimum two days/week)
Responsibilities:
Lead co-creation of the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) with the IEP team – parents, teacher, Education Assistant (EA), and other necessary professionals – ensuring that goals are relevant to the student’s designation and special needs.
Direct and/or coordinate the IEP team throughout the year while ensuring implementation of IEP goals
Draft a student budget proposal based on the needs presented in the IEP, including plans for spending the Student Learning Plan (SLP)
Oversee and manage approved student support plan spending through:
Scheduling and monitoring assessments, appointments, contracted professional services, and external programs
Purchasing approved IE resources, and SLP Encom curriculum purchases
Connect with the student & primary home educator a minimum of four times a year (initial, Term 1, Term 2, and final), through in-person visits whenever possible.
Gather evidence of progress towards IEP goals, with and from the IEP team
Evaluate and report progress within the IEP at each report card term.
Keep records and document progress as required by HCOS and the Ministry of Education
Become proficient at IE-specific technology and software programs
Qualifications:
BC Teaching Certificate is a requirement
Previous experience in Inclusive Education, Learning Support, or working with a diverse group of students is an asset
Ability to build relationships and work relationally with students, parents, coordinator and other team members
Flexible attitude towards adapting to students and situation
