**About the Position:**The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for the overall processing of financial transactions and payment regarding our procurement and suppliers. Before issuing payment, the Accounts Payable Coordinator must ensure the accuracy/consistency of all relevant paperwork and that purchased goods have been physically received from the respective supplier. The Accounts Payable Coordinator must maintain a good relationship with suppliers and reconcile to their provided statements each month.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure all accounts payable invoices and accounts are processed in an effective and efficient manner.
- Strong communication skills and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment
- Input multicurrency invoices into the payables system (verifying vendor, product, quantity, and dollars charged between purchase order and invoice from vendor).
- Create and edit ACH and cheque batches.
- Conduct necessary research to obtain invoice, proof of receipt and other documentation in order to process payments in a timely manner.
- Review employee expense reports for accuracy and approvals.
- Problem solving and follow up on supplier invoices with purchasing, receiving, and vendor.
- Answer vendor enquiries.
- Prepare analysis of accounts.
- Assist monthly closing procedures.
- Filing and document processing.
- Process monthly sales tax returns for approval.
- Open and distribute mail.
- Answering incoming calls on the main phone line for the company and forwarding calls accordingly.
**About You:**The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:
Experience:
- College Diploma or equivalent accredited education in Accounting/Business Administration or related discipline an asset
- Minimum 2 years experience in a computerized accounting environment
- Detail-oriented with proven numeric and analytical skills
- A strong understanding of the accounting cycle including; matching, coding, and posting to accounting software
- Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics AX, MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual both written and oral in French is an asset
