About The Role A boutique tax firm in downtown Vancouver is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant with a strong background in Canadian taxation and private enterprise accounting. The firm provides sophisticated, timely advice to a loyal client base, primarily high-net-worth individuals with substantial investment holdings.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a minimum of 4 years in Canadian public practice , significant exposure to tax compliance and planning, and a strong interest in advancing their career in a client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare compiled financial statements and complex income tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T5013)
- Handle other filings, including UHT, T3010, T2054, T2057, T1134, T1135, NR4, NR6, Section 216 returns
- Respond to CRA review letters and draft Notices of Objection and other election forms
- Draft tax planning memos for reorganizations
- Perform safe income calculations, pro-forma tax calculations, and other modeling
- Assist with technical tax training materials and slide decks
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications & Skills
- CPA designation required
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Income Tax and private enterprise accounting
- Completed, enrolled in, or willing to pursue CPA In-Depth Tax Program and/or STEP program
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time-management, and self-motivation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Client-focused, with a talent for understanding client businesses and building long-term relationships
