Job Description
We are seeking a talented Interior Design Assistant & SketchUp Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, proficiency in SketchUp software, and the ability to follow design direction while also sourcing materials for interior design projects. This role plays a vital part in the creative process, bringing concepts to life through 3D modeling and material selection.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D models using SketchUp and eventually Auto Cad, to visualize design concepts.
- Work closely with the president and projects team to translate ideas into accurate and functional renderings.
- Follow design direction and adapt models based on feedback.
- Source and recommend materials, finishes, and furnishings to align with project goals.
- Assist in interior design decision-making by researching trends, suppliers, and sustainable options.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to ensure seamless execution.
- Maintain an organized digital library of design assets and materials.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency in SketchUp and Auto Cad is required; experience with rendering software is required.
- Strong understanding of interior design principles and material selection.
- Ability to interpret design briefs and produce compelling 3D visualizations.
- 3 years minimum experience in Canada or the US in interior design related position.
- Follows directions of supervisor and is accountable.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for aesthetics and functionality.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
- Knowledge of other design software (Photoshop) is an asset.
- Canadian or American job references required.
