As part of the Risk Management Group working within the Quantitative Analytics & Risk Reporting (QAR) team, the Senior Analyst will focus on enabling investment risk capabilities (including multiple risk models, decomposition, measurement, and analysis) and delivering valuable risk insights. Leveraging your financial and risk knowledge, coupled with strong technical and quantitative capability, you will influence and enable a consistent view for all risk managers in estimating the overall market, credit and liquidity risk, and exposure across all asset classes to enable a best-in-class investment risk management capability.
You will work to deliver a holistic and consistent view of risks across all asset classes enabling AIMCo to integrate risk management with portfolio management through quantitative approaches within a maturing controls environment. You will support and shape the full end-to-end ability to enable our risk managers and investment teams by creating practical solutions for investment professionals. This includes requirements, methodology definition, implementation, design, testing, and delivery. You will have the chance to collaborate with risk managers, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders within and outside of the organization.
Responsibilities Include:
- Proactively generate risk metrics and advanced analytics that provides risk insights to assist with risk management and business decision making within a team environment
- Validate and interpreting risk measurements on a regular basis and provide commentary and insights on changes in portfolios, risk profiles and markets
- Develop visualization and risk reports required for the total fund, clients, asset classes and products
- Optimize and productionize in-house developed models and analytical tools
- Provide data-driven support to various stakeholders as required
- Collaborate with Business Technology and external vendors to bring continued improvements and innovation to risk systems and processes
Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant quantitative field (ex: Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business/Finance, Economics, Computer Science); graduate degree is an asset
- 3+ years of experience working in financial industry in capacities of risk management, reporting/data insights, and quantitative modeling
- Strong understanding of financial products including derivatives, and the measurement of their risks (market, credit, liquidity)
- Advanced working knowledge in Python programing, SQL, Excel (VBA), and other metrics tracking tools
- Prior experience with data management, visualization and reporting through PowerBI, Databricks is an asset
- Professional designation (ex: CFA, FRM, PRM) is an asset
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration, and inspiring the same in others
