The Role The Market Manager is responsible for managing a Field Sales team in Manitoba and Saskatchewan by leading, motivating and developing them to build brands in the market including: White Claw, Mott's Clamato, Dillon's, La Marca, High Noon, Barefoot, Apothic, White Haven, Cavit, Pink Whitney, Rum Chata, and Louis Martini just to name a few. This role will also be responsible for the Key Account strategy in Manitoba with the Manitoba Liquor Board and private retail chain customers in Saskatchewan to plan, develop and implement sales initiatives. The Market Manager we are seeking will be based out in Winnipeg.

Leadership

  • Develop, manage and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales objective targets.
  • Conduct regular field surveys to evaluate market conditions and validate program execution
  • Develop local strategy, tactics and goals to achieve brand objectives
  • Coach, mentor and develop a team of 4 Field Sales Associates/Representatives to ensure sales and cultural expectations are being met and improved
  • Overnight travel required to Saskatchewan and through Manitoba.
  • Infrequent travel throughout Canada, including to Calgary.

Key Account Management

  • Foster a strong working relationship with Manitoba Liquor Board and private retail chain customers in Saskatchewan.
  • Responsible for Key Account management in Manitoba and private retail chains in Saskatchewan.
  • Execute all aspects of sales plan within your markets. Present brand plans, pricing and promotion, and programming according to parameters of business plan.

Budgeting, Reporting & Analysis

  • Responsible for monitoring SG&A and A&P budgets.
  • Keep abreast of competitive trends and report appropriate developments.
  • Monitoring of inventory levels and sales quotas.
  • Develop, monitor and track marketing/trade programs with the Regional Trade Marketing Manager.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 2+ years of sales management experience, preferably in the beverage alcohol or CPG industry
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce or related from a recognized institution
  • Proven success in field sales
  • Proven ability to develop and manage team
  • Effective leadership and strategic influencing skill
  • Effective business systems thinker and a good understanding of business process knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with others in a diverse environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at a time
