About the role

The Durham District School Board acknowledges that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships, both historic and modern, with the territories upon which our school board and schools are located. Today, this area is home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. We acknowledge that the Durham Region forms a part of the traditional and treaty territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, the Mississauga Peoples and the treaty territory of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. It is on these ancestral and treaty lands that we teach, live and learn.

Durham Continuing Education is the Durham District School Board’s program for its adult daytime program as well as many continuing education programs. While the core business of Continuing Education is funded by the Ministry of Education, partnerships with MLITSD, IRCC, MCI and MCSS support Continuing Education programming.

DCE is actively seeking SUPPLY ELEMENTARY INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS for our HINDI Classes LOCATION: R.S. McLaughlin C.V.I. - 570 Stevenson Road North, Oshawa

TIME: 6:00 P.M. - to 8:30 p.m. - Wednesday Evenings starting immediately and ending May 13, 2026.

Major Duties Deliver language instruction using age appropriate material.

Maintain accurate student attendance and progression records

Communicate with families on student progress

Qualifications

  • Fluency in reading, writing, speaking Hindi.
  • Ability to teach reading, writing, speaking of Hindi.
  • Previous teaching experience is an asset

Additional Requirements

  • Provide a current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
