I'm partnering with a well-established and growing retail organization that is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Vancouver, BC. This role offers a unique blend of financial reporting, inventory accounting, leadership, FP&A exposure, and business partnering, all within a collaborative environment that values continuous improvement.

📍 Location: Vancouver, BC (primarily remote with occasional travel)

What you'll be doing: ✔️ Leading the month-end close process from start to finish ✔️ Preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules ✔️ Mentoring and reviewing the work of an Accountant on the team ✔️ Managing inventory reconciliations, costing, and valuation in a high-volume environment ✔️ Preparing balance sheet and income statement reconciliations ✔️ Supporting year-end activities, including tax working papers and external audits ✔️ Delivering meaningful financial analysis and management reporting ✔️ Partnering on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow modeling, and other FP&A initiatives ✔️ Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency ✔️ Leveraging data analytics tools to enhance business insights and decision-making ✔️ Building dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI or Tableau ✔️ Utilizing Power Query and advanced Excel to work with large, complex data sets

What we're looking for: 🔹 CPA designation 🔹 5+ years of progressive accounting experience 🔹 Experience in retail, distribution, wholesale, or audit experience supporting retail clients 🔹 Strong understanding of inventory accounting and high-volume transactions 🔹 Previous experience mentoring or overseeing junior team members 🔹 Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and modeling 🔹 Experience with Power BI, Tableau, and Power Query is highly desirable 🔹 A naturally curious, analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving
