About the team you are joining
E&F manages payments from airlines/operators to Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs), Airports, ANSPs, government authorities for navigation/overflight, airport (landing, parking, lighting, electricity, cargo …), and passenger (PSC, security …) charges. Client or operators upload the data to the IATA E&F self-billing portal. E&F creates billing documents and sends them to the airlines for payment. E&F also sends a list of the charges with each invoice so the airlines know which data/services they are being billed for.
Reporting to the Manager, Data Transformation, the incumbent will be responsible for accurate and on-time processing of aeronautical billing data. In addition, this position involves the technical implementation for new clients, user acceptance testing for system enhancements, and migrations to new platforms.
This is a detail-oriented job that involves regular data processing activities and some minor project-related duties. The position is responsible for quality control, problem identification, and ensuring tasks are completed on schedule. The position will also be responsible for maintaining certain sets of master data used by the team.
This position also involves clarifying business requirements for the development team and performing user acceptance testing with the product owner to ensure all acceptance criteria are met as per the product backlog.
Employees in this position will become skilled in data processing, analytics, and certain software packages, including APPS and SAP. This skill set allows employees to move into analytical and data-driven positions elsewhere, or potentially into certain IT-related positions.
What your day would be like
You will ensure that high-quality collection and settlement services are delivered to customers accurately and with utmost operational integrity. You will also be:
Ensure timely and accurate client billing data cleansing and submission, enrichment of files from authorities (for invoicing) and airlines (for disputes/credits), and invoicing to operators on time
Submit client reporting on time
Enhance the quality of the client data (returned data, missing details, wrong values), reducing disputes and bad debt, by consistently applying checks on MTOW, flight type, cargo load capacity, passenger capacity …) and enrichments across different clients, adapting per client specificities as required
Standardize the customer data templates per type of charge, optimize the matching rules on the platform
Monitor activity, identify defects or failures, and ensure they are corrected
Challenge current process definition and propose solutions related to operational issues.
Maintain reference data for materials and pricing, and detect changes in prices applied to airline invoices
Keep all document processes up to date in the respective SOP user guides, clearly identifying exceptions and specific requirements
Assist the Manager, Data Transformation in technical implementations of new clients and services: front-end setup (APPS), and general SAP UATs and APPS UATs.
Report to and support the Manager, Billing and Invoicing, with various operational-related matters and projects in order to achieve the operational and financial objectives
Interact with different teams and departments, internal (account management, billing and invoicing, country offices, treasury, banking, ICH and BSP products and operations …) and external (clearing banks, intermediary banks, clients, operators)
Introduce new charges (passenger, cargo, airport, sustainability, non-aeronautical …)
Automate the data cleansing and validation processes by introducing new aviation databases and new vendors for data comparison
Test the deployment of new features and report any bugs, issues
Introduce new features to the system (penalty on late unpaid fees, dynamic reporting, analytics …)
