Position Group: CUPE1306 Inside Competition #: 1306-26-12 Job Description: Administrative Assistant, Waste Management & Sustainability
What you'll do: The Administrative Assistant - Waste Management & Sustainability assists with waste reduction programs, communications support, special projects, and sustainability and climate change initiatives. As the first point of contact the Administrative Assistant provides friendly, professional and efficient customer services to the public, contractors, local municipalities, and other stakeholders.
Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Waste Management & Sustainability, with referral of other division inquiries, ensuring efficient daily operations and effective service delivery. Customer Service: Respond to inquiries and provide accurate, timely information to residents, contractors, municipal partners, and other stakeholders. Program Coordination: Coordinate and support environmental programs and projects, including the County's Adopt-A-Road program, seasonal waste management initiatives, resident appointments, communication support, and program research.
In accordance with County Policy, a Police Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

This job is for you if… Our non-negotiables: You have a diploma or degree in Business/Office Administration, in an environmental field or equivalent experience. Experience: You have a minimum of two year experience in customer service and/or administration in a municipal setting. Understanding of the waste management & sustainability and climate change field is considered an asset. Adaptable: You excel at working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and distractions. You're able to multi-task, while prioritizing tasks to ensure workload efficiency. Detail Oriented: You produce high-quality, accurate correspondence and documentation, with minimal supervision. Communication Skills: You are able to communicate clearly and professionally, projecting a positive image and handling diverse stakeholders with tact and diplomacy.
