About the role
Our client is a growing real estate development and construction company managing multiple projects across various regions. They are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting core accounting functions, delivering sharp financial analysis, and helping drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with sound judgement, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels. Main responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly and quarterly financial results packages, including variance analysis, balance sheet reviews, and cash flow forecasting
- Reviewing and analyzing key balance sheet accounts, such as inventory, job costs, and overhead
- Conducting quarterly reconciliations, including intercompany loans and bank accounts, and resolving outstanding items
- Supporting capital management initiative and cash flow optimization
- Assisting with compliance, financial reporting, bank covenant requirements, and coordinating with external accountants for year-end statements and tax filings
- Analyzing key business and operational performance drivers
- Processing supplier payments in alignment with project and operational timelines
- Preparing and distributing the Co brokerage fee summaries
- Reviewing HST filings and responding to CRA audit inquiries
- Monitoring accounts payable and receivable aging reports, escalating issues as needed
- Aiding with external inquiries and audit field work
- Collaborating with the accounting team to resolve issues and escalate complex matters
- Leading or contributing to process improvement initiatives to enhance financial systems, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- A CPA designation, complete or in progress, is preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency with ERP software and an advanced level of Excel skills
- Advanced knowledge of HST compliance and related reporting
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and financial system optimization
Assets:
- Supervisory experience
- Public accounting experience
- Real estate, construction, or manufacturing experience
- Newstar experience
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $100,000 annual salary

- Standard weekday hours (Monday to Friday) are from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM; flexibility is negotiable
