We are seeking a motivated and experienced temporary casual Research Coordinator 2 to support the conduct of Hematological and Transfusion Medicine-based clinical research studies under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
Responsibilities may include coordinating the day-to-day activities of a research project to ensure the successful completion of research protocols from study set-up to closeout. Applies specialized knowledge to initiate, implement, coordinate, and manage single and/or multi-site research projects in all phases.
Responsibilities also include managing the daily operations of research projects, including oversight of study activation activities, regulatory and ethics documentation, and study close-out visits. Oversees the design and maintenance of databases using REDCap or similar database, tracks monthly expenditures, and liaises with patients, research and clinical staff, and external stakeholders in the conduct of research studies while ensuring compliance with the research study protocols, research policies and regulatory requirements.
Rate of Pay:$38.09 - $47.60
**Hours of Work:**5-7 hours per week
**Duration:**12 months (possibility for renewal)
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Data Collection, Entry, and Management
- Development and Oversight of Patient Registries, as part of Research Projects
- Development and Management of study start-up Documentation, including Research Ethics Boards (REB) Submissions
- Communication Between Site Researchers and Sponsors, including Oversight of Financial Transactions
- Consenting of Patients for Enrolment into Research Studies
- Liaison Between Stakeholders at Site, Sponsor, and other Collaborating Organizations (ie. CTO)
##Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant area of study or equivalent education and experience required
- Three years of recent experience conducting clinical research studies, industry sponsored and/or investigator-initiated studies
- Certificate or diploma in Clinical Trials Management and/or designation in SOCRA, ACRP, an asset
- Experience with research study initiation
- Experience with Research Ethics submissions and amendments
- Knowledge of related field of work being studied
- Knowledge of clinical research regulatory requirements (ICH Good Clinical Practice, Health Canada and FDA regulations)
- Proficient with electronic data capture systems (ex. RedCap)
- Experience with electronic patient records (ex. Powerchart)
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Communication skills; both written and verbal
- Interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with patients, health care professionals, research staff and external stakeholders
- Organizational, planning skills; Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines; Attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple research projects/studies
