About the role
About Gravity Gravity is the platform public agencies use to manage budgeting, automate financial reporting, and meet compliance with confidence. From Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) to Budget Books to GASB disclosures, we give teams the tools to move faster, work smarter, and build public trust.
About The Role You’re a proven data leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, technology, and impact. You combine deep technical expertise in cloud-native data platforms and analytics with a strong understanding of financial reporting and governance. Most importantly, you’re a builder and mentor who can lead teams to deliver scalable, high-impact data solutions.
What You'll Do As Director of Data & Analytics, you’ll shape Gravity’s data vision and execution, building the foundation that powers our next-generation financial platform. You will:
Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and own the data & analytics roadmap aligned with Gravity’s product evolution (from manual ETL → governed data → AI enablement).
- Partner with product, engineering, and customer success to ensure initiatives translate into customer value.
- Drive adoption of best practices in cloud-native data architectures and data product design.
Data Integration & Modernization
- Lead the modernization of ERP data integration into our Multidimensional Financial Data Model (MDFM).
- Replace manual ETL with scalable, metadata-driven pipelines and reusable onboarding templates.
- Ensure integrations are reusable, scalable, and accelerate customer onboarding.
Data Governance & Quality
- Establish a robust governance framework with clear ownership, stewardship, and access control.
- Implement data quality controls (validation, reconciliation, completeness checks).
- Build monitoring and reporting for lineage, versioning, and compliance.
Analytics & Reporting Enablement
- Enhance multi-tenant BI capabilities with agency-level customization and data isolation.
- Automate audit-ready reports (ACFR, PAFR, recurring reports).
- Partner with product teams to embed financial analytics into the customer experience.
AI & Innovation
- Lead enablement of AI frameworks and intelligent agents to optimize ETL, forecasting, anomaly detection, and financial reporting.
- Ensure all AI-driven capabilities are explainable, auditable, and compliant with public-sector standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed AI as a decision-support and predictive guidance layer for finance leaders.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and mentor a high-performing data team across integration, governance, analytics, and AI.
- Act as a thought leader in data and analytics for Gravity and government customers.
- Work with executives to position Gravity as the leading AI-enabled finance platform for the public sector.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related leadership roles (preferably SaaS or public-sector tech).
- Proven track record of defining and executing enterprise data strategies and roadmaps.
- Expertise in modern cloud data platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and integration technologies.
- Strong knowledge of governance, lineage, and quality frameworks in compliance-heavy industries.

- Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (forecasting, anomaly detection, NLP) and operationalization.
- Understanding of financial reporting, modeling, and public-sector financial workflows.
- Knowledge of accounting regulations and standards (a plus).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
About You
- You love shaping data strategy and building modern, scalable data foundations.
- You thrive at the intersection of leadership and hands-on problem solving.
- You can translate complex technical concepts into clear ideas that resonate with executives, teammates, and customers alike.
