The Role

Working with the technical services, development group at the corporate office in Saskatoon, you will provide technical support in the area process engineering and process controls for the northern Saskatchewan operations and other corporate groups.

In this role, you will:

  • Utilize and maintain Cameco’s AVEVA PI data system, both developing applications and dashboards for sites, and system upkeep.
  • Support and grow Cameco’s process controls optimization program, which measures and manages performance of industrial control loops at the northern Saskatchewan mining and milling sites, and enables advanced self-serve process data analytics.
  • Support capital project development by performing data analysis, design calculations, and other process engineering deliverables.
  • Support process sampling campaigns and on-site process optimization test work at the northern Saskatchewan mining and milling sites.

Required:

  • You will be entering your third or fourth year as a university student specializing in chemical, process, metallurgical and/or computer engineering or a related field

  • You must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco

  • Occasional travel to site as projects require

Recommended:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience in industrial plant environments

  • Experience with AVEVA PI System or related data analytics and visualization tools

  • Exposure to basic lab techniques and testing procedures

You will have the opportunity to work remote in this position. However, there may be the need for intermittent meetings in the Saskatoon office/travel to site. The details of this flex work arrangement will be discussed with you in the recruitment process.
