The I.T. Supervisor
As a member of our I.T. Team, the I.T. Supervisor supports the I.T. Department in managing the Company’s IT Infrastructure Services and Security.
#A day in the life of the I.T. Supervisor might include...
- Developing strategies and establishing IT standard procedures to enhance business workflow, efficiency, security, and user satisfaction.
- Protecting company assets from external infiltration by implementing secure authentication, encryption, training, secure data storage, and other necessary measures.
- Tracking and monitoring daily service levels of IT services infrastructure, and conducting analysis to maintain capacity, performance, and reliability.
- Overseeing IT infrastructure services, inventory, and managing the hardware recycling program.
- Monitoring helpdesk services to ensure effective management of hardware and software assets.
- Managing access level permissions, door system schedules, email distribution group setup and changes, Active Directory security groups, access to portals, server items, and maintaining permissions.
- Staging, configuring, testing, and maintaining IT software and services, including server hardware with VMware hosts, Microsoft Windows Server guests, and network infrastructure devices.
- Ensuring the maintenance of backup infrastructure (onsite and offsite) using Veeam Backup.
- Troubleshooting advanced user issues, diagnosing IT service problems, logging all issues in the helpdesk system, and documenting solutions.
- Providing technical support on IT projects in collaboration with the PMO.
- Monitoring and analysing IT system performance to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and security.
- Supporting the development and management of the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions that enhance networking and security.
- Keeping up to date with the latest technology trends and advancements, particularly in networking and security.
- Acting as a back-up to the helpdesk as needed.
- Managing, motivating, and mentoring helpdesk staff.
- Managing other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Do you have what you need to succeed?
- Post-Secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience managing Microsoft Windows Server preferably with hybrid (cloud) exposure.
- Experience in an IT role in a manufacturing and/or logistics environment is an asset.
- Experience using Active Directory and Azure services portals.
- Experience with firewalls and switches, specifically Cisco Meraki firewalls and FS switches and knowledge of VLANs
- Extensive Experience with VMware vCenter, ESXi versions 7-8 and Veeam Backup version 11-12 with HP Nimble/Alletra SAN knowledge.
- Experience with enterprise global printer setup with proxy card in Kyocera KNM printer management
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal format.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365, Project Management software and Dynamics GP an asset
- SQL Server knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with little instruction and analyze complex data.
- Professional certifications such as: PMP, ITIL, CCNA, or CISSP.
- Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies.
