About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Volunteer Mobile App UI/UX Designer to help create intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing mobile experiences for Dineizi.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving user experience challenges, designing elegant mobile interfaces, and working closely with developers and product contributors to bring ideas to life.

You'll play an important role in defining the overall user experience of our mobile application by creating wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and polished UI designs while ensuring accessibility, consistency, and usability throughout the product.

What You'll Do

Design intuitive and visually appealing mobile app interfaces for iOS and Android. Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes. Transform product ideas and requirements into clean, user-friendly experiences. Collaborate closely with developers and product contributors to ensure designs are practical and implementation-ready. Conduct design iterations based on stakeholder and user feedback. Help establish and maintain a scalable design system, reusable components, and style guides. Prepare detailed design specifications and developer handoff documentation. Ensure designs follow accessibility standards and inclusive design principles. Participate in remote meetings, brainstorming sessions, and design reviews. Continuously research UI/UX trends and recommend improvements that enhance the overall product experience.

What We're Looking For

Experience designing mobile applications using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch. Strong understanding of user-centered design principles. Knowledge of usability, accessibility, information architecture, and interaction design. Ability to create low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes. Strong visual design skills, including typography, spacing, color theory, iconography, and layout. Understanding of mobile platform guidelines for iOS and Android. Ability to communicate design decisions clearly and collaborate effectively within a remote team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while managing priorities in a flexible volunteer environment. A portfolio showcasing UI/UX work, academic projects, or personal design projects is highly preferred.

Nice to Have

Experience working with startup products. Familiarity with Design Systems and Atomic Design. Knowledge of Material Design and Apple Human Interface Guidelines. Basic understanding of front-end development concepts. Experience conducting usability testing or user research. Understanding of restaurant, hospitality, or consumer-facing mobile applications.
