Contributes to the overall success of Automotive Finance in Western Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Leads the retail sales strategy for the Western Canada region to achieve profitable growth and increase retail market share for their respective region in both Prime & Near-Prime business.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans for retail sales team to maximize loan originations, increase market share and lead other business objectives.
- Collaborate with other Directors in Commercial, OEM Partnerships and Regional Banking.
- Builds and maintains a high profile for all AF accounts with an emphasis on large groups, partner OEMs through process of planning and completing sales and relationship activities, liaising with retail sales team, DCoC, and Retail Risk for support and service functions.
- Develops regional strategies that provide direction to the retail sales team that are market relevant, focusing on bank sales management disciplines, working collaboratively with regional Bank partners to drive a better client experience, deepen relationships and increase our share of wallet.
- Identifying the required resources necessary to support the achievement of strategic sales planning objectives such as reallocating complement, reassignment of dealer relationships, realignment of market coverages areas for both Prime & Near-Prime business lines.
- Monitoring and reviewing the quality of the loan portfolio credit quality through national, regional and dealer segmentation reporting, identing and initiating corrective response to negative trends in the region
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

**Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have: **
- Completion of a post-secondary education (college or university) required
- A thorough knowledge of Canada’s financial services marketplace and an expert knowledge of the Automotive Finance marketplace, major customers and competitive positioning within the market areas – both prime and near-prime.
- The incumbent must possess strong tactical strategic planning and implementation/management skills.
- Expert sales management leadership skills are essential. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for business development/customer relationship building and to facilitate the development of a positive and effective team environment.
- The ability to influence and motivate others is an important aspect of this position. The incumbent requires the ability to continually challenge the status quo, setting a positive example of change and encouraging others to do the same, to facilitate the achievement of a customer-focused sales culture.
- Expert knowledge of Indirect Retail Prime and Near-Prime programs, products, policies and services, including a working knowledge of systems, routines and operating procedures.
- Expert knowledge of financial analysis, risk analysis techniques, credit adjudication and the Bank’s lending policies and procedures for Indirect Retail Prime and Near-Prime business lines.
